Training Through Video Games

Every single fucking weekend my little cousins came to my grandparents house, I live with my grandparents. The first thing they do is barge through the door and race to the TV, which my grandfather is usually watching at the time. Before they give their elders a hug, or even acknowledge their presence , the two little bastards are fighting over who get's first player. Game of choice? Call of Duty of course. Which one? All of them. And it is these games that are ruining my cousins childhoods.
Now don't get me wrong, I played my fair share of Grand Theft Auto and Starfox growing up, but the obsession kids have with these high tech, "realistic" war games is unreal to me. It is obviously training these young children for combat, or at least preparing to desensitize them from the uncertainty and heartbreak that comes with war. This is disturbing to me because it is affecting their attitudes when communicating with people in real life. After a days worth of staring at a pixelated screen, the two boys are always grumpy and short tempered. I know almost all little kids act like motherfuckers sometimes, but not to this extreme and it was not like this before they became addicted to violent video games.

*Also they have both gained a significant amount of weight, but thats just a side note.
