Better Late then Never!

I know that it is a little late to be blogging about Flash Mobs since that was a few weeks ago discussion in class. But I am a little obssesed with flash mobs so I thought I night as well blog about it now. In high school I was in show choir and think that show choir and flash mobs are a little similar, although show choir shows are well planned out. I found out about flash mobs a few years back when a friend showed them to me. I had always thought that it would be cool to have life sung out in music all the time. She showed me a group called Improv Everywhere. http://improveverywhere.com/ This group is based out of New York City and have done some of the most crazy things ever. Once you start looking on the site it gets a little addicting watching all of the videos of the improvs/flash mobs they have done. SO WARNING if you go to the website you may loose a few minutes of your day. They are great and really funny to watch.

During class disscssion we had talked about if flash mobs where used for promotional events. I agree with this and think that some flash mobs can be used for advertisements. This is only for some things, though they have to be done in the right way. Even though most flash mobs are used for fun and creative events, some flash mobs can hurt people, and can take a turn for the worse when in the middle of them. Example the Liberian mobs. Most people don't consider flash mobs as a bad thing. I know that I don't. I think they are a great and fun thing to do.

Flash mobs work out the best when majority of the public do not know about them. There have been some cases where people have advertiesed them and posted things all over Facebook about a flash mob is happing. I personally think that this is an ineffective flash mob, because they are suppose to be random, and a suprise for the viewing audience. Someday I hope to participate in a successful singing flash mob. Such as one like this.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXh7JR9oKVE
I hope that you all enjoy it!
