When I think of sports and the military I can never think of a time where they were not together. I mean sports and military have been involved since most of them started. I believe that though this can be looked at as scary to some people because maybe some people are affected and want to join the military at their baseball game. I also believe that the military being tied to sports is not that bad. I remember in high school before a track meet or basketball game my coach made sure to tell me I was at war. He was all about pointing out the enemy that the other team doesn’t care about me, and I should show no mercy. Honestly, I wouldn’t want any other speech because it put me in the mind frame of going out there and giving it my all. I have never been affected by the military showing up to the games because I really never thought about it. I just saw people that I respected but now thinking about I can see how people could be upset. I think sports figures believing that they are soldiers and basically making it seem like they do what people in the military do is a bad thing. I think we need to learn that football players are not soldiers they are athletes, and I think we should make that distinction for the easily influenced. I think that this should happen to protect the ones who are most likely to sign up because it’s the easily influenced who can’t make the distinction.
